The Country Road

The other fine day, I just took off the train at Seiseki Sakuragaoka station on Keio line while listening the melody of “the Country Road” flowing from overhead Speakers and walked around the hill side nearby then reached its top of the hill.
The station and the surroundings have been well known where Hayao Miyazaki designed and Yoshifumi Kondo directed “Wisper of the Heart” in 1995, was Kondo’s first and the last studio Ghibli film.

Got out from the west exit , I found the miniature scale “Chikyu ya “ modeled antique shop from the film , located on the other side of narrow passage where you will find the police box on the right . Don’t miss this tiny monument !

Then I proceeded Sakura dori avenue toward the Oguri river and the bridge where the herein Shizuku Tsukishima chassed the fatty cat, named Moon. On my background, the group of tall station buildings and Keio shopping mall , the familir landscape scenes in the film could be recognized .
Climbed Irohazaka slope and found the stairs that accessible to the municipal library on my left ,both of this slope and steps are frequently seen in the film. However , no liberary is on the ground in our real world.

「Got up the stairs which traversing Irohazaka slope and reached the residential area.
Then one minute walk from this area, on my left hand I found the little shrine which is also worldly known one in the film.

On the same level of the ground ,found the Sekido castle ruin with splendid landscape which was called Tenshudai stairs in the film.
Srolling little it’sneighbors , reached the traffic circle where Chikyuya antique shop might be located in the film .
